Guide to my server infrastructure

Computer layout

  • server. (Main server)
  • lucifer. (OpenBSD)
  • linux. (Linux) (Can be used as a test VPS for other OS’s

Software

  • Web Panel: ispmanager
  • Web server: Linux
  • BSD machine: OpenBSD
  • Daily remote use: Slackware
  • Home remote VNC: FreeBSD

Why

I tend to remove, reinstall setup remove a lot so figured if I have a main server that is actually important and 1 VPS that can be changed or reinstalled would be a better option for “me”

I hate Cpanel, Plesk is ok but exp, the free ones tends to have issues when updating, DirectAdmin don’t like the “recompile all the things” so I’ve always used ispmanager. Wanted a system that is mainly used for web hosting OS didn’t matter as I knew if I wanted a web panel the OS would be limited to Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu.

Also so much old information online…
